Please see where we started, went, and ended up. It is no longer the room that only just survived and got by. It now stands on the edge of reappearing as a room from the Victorian Age with all of its beauty.
Return of the Parlor
We are very proud to announce the basic restoration of the formal Parlor of the Elmwood Mansion located at the Marbold Farmstead. This is the room on the right side after you enter the front door. While final work on electrical fixtures, ceiling moldings, flooring, decoration, and an entry door remain, the basic structural masonry, drywall, and primer painting are complete.
We would like to thank the craftsman who made this all possible:
Illinois Builders (Damon Dennis and Delonte Patterson),
Straight Edge Masonry (Josh Young and his crew)
Rob’s Electric (Rob Von Behren)
Below is a pictorial essay on the progress at Marbold.
